  • During our first phone call, we’ll take notes to ensure we understand your situation. After discussing your lifestyle, we’ll explain how we’d like to approach the project. The primary goal of this conversation isn’t to devise a concrete game plan, though–that comes later–it’s to get to know each other.

  • If you decide to proceed with our home organization services, we’ll ask you to schedule a complimentary one-hour consultation. During this home visit, we’ll evaluate every room you want to be organized. This will allow us to provide an accurate estimate for the cost and duration of the project. At Form + Function, we pride ourselves on operating with honesty and integrity, and we’re always transparent about our fee structure, which never includes any hidden expenses.

  • Once all the planning stages have been completed, we roll up our sleeves and get to work. Our team is happy to do all the decluttering for you, but you’re welcome to dive in if you’d like, as well.

    Some clients prefer to get down and dirty with us, while others take a more hands-off approach. Regardless, we know this can be an emotional process, so we promise to be by your side every step of the way and help you part with the things that are no longer serving you.

    During the decluttering stage, we’ll also coordinate with donation centers and consignment shops in the area, as well as post on Facebook Marketplace. Depending on the scope of the decluttering, we can call out a junk removal service, as well.

  • We will help you find new items that make the space unique. We can also “shop your home” to make use of things you already have. There’s no reason to replace a well-worn leather chair, for example, if it’s perfectly comfortable and in good shape. While we’re happy to offer style tips, this is a collaborative effort, and we’ll ask for lots of input at this stage. After all, our ultimate goal is to help you create the space that you want.

  • Once the area has been cleared and there’s room to work, it’s time to get organized. We’ll show you how to arrange the room and devise systems for maximizing its functionality, like creating custom labels, so the space serves its ultimate purpose.

    During this process, you can reach out anytime with questions or concerns, and we’ll happily answer them. Need a recommendation for a general contractor? No problem. Thinking about adding a new rug but feeling overwhelmed? Though it depends on several factors, professional organization goes by the 4-2-8 “rule,” which means an area about 4’ wide by 2’ deep and 8’ tall translates to about four hours of organizing. With that in mind, a spacious living room or bedroom might take several days of organizing to bring your vision to life.

What should I expect during the decluttering process?
